Hello. Election day, all you Canadians go vote!

Anyways just a couple of recs

    Smallville
I bought Pride & Prejudice the other day and watched it (5 hours) in one sitting. @_@ Colin Firth hmmm what a lovely man...
Anyways, in the spirt of Pride and Prejudice First Impressions by Dogpoet. Pride and Prejudice Smallville style!! Very well written, check it out.

    Pugilist by [info]hackthis.
A short Ron/Draco fic with the best line ever: It’s not really a kiss; it’s more of a hostile exchange of spit.

    back...with some SV recs.
Back from the black hole call work. I know my job requires a lot of OT, but 60 hour weeks tends to suck the life right out of ya...truly I don’t mind the work so much its not being appreciated for it...sigh...oh well…

Anyways, because of my schedule I haven't been finding/reading a lot of fics as I usually do..but here we go...

    Smallville

    Pyrrhic by [info]zaganthi and Perryvic.
A lovely novella, with a vulnerable! Lex. I suck at summaries so here's their summary: Lex finds a reason to let go of his past, but his attempt to rise from the ashes may only bring him a pyrrhic victory Please read the warning for the fic, it is not for everyone, especially if you don't like hurt and comfort fics.

Slow Drag by [info]zaganthi and [info]tzi.
Yes I'm am a major fan of [info]zaganthi and [info]tzi fics, and you can see why. This is not as long as Pyrrhic but just as good. I never really saw a fic where superman really snap mentally. I always thought superheroes have split personality to deal with their day-to-day lives. Tho I love Batman, he’s a real jerk in this fic, actually kinda funny…

Last Night the DJ saved my Live by [info]hackthis
Who doesn’t love Red!Clark? Hmmmmmmm.....I can soo see DJ Red!Clark…

Anyways, I’ll be back with more soon…..been reading a lot of Xmen fics lately for some reason. Also looking for nice Spiderman fics as well.

    Recs....
Hey y’all got a little break from RL to post something. I haven't been reading a lot a fics lately due to RL, sigh... Oh well

    Smallville
First off, just saw Truth and it TOTALLY rocked. Hmmmm my poor lexy, oh so sexy...

Anyways, wonderful news everyone. Lanning Cook had finally installed her next chapter (Chapter 9) of Identical Series, Alliance.
Damn! It was soooooo worth the wait! Warning, this is a novel people....took me two nights to finish it..hhhmmmm sooo good! Lanning is a wonderful writer, and her Identical Series is famous in the Smallville fandom. It's so believable in it's AU sense, and her characterisation is soo on the dot with what we seen in the show, its uncanny. Go now and read it!!!

An old one I read long ago, but it's one of those you can forget. Plus with Troy opening soon, thought this is a nice one to rec.
Achilles' Heel by X-parrot. An interesting look into the Superman/Lex Luthor saga. Love this line: The hero neither smiled nor looked away. "It's my weakness," he said, and then they kissed, and as the sun rose, the blue washed the night away.

And since we are on the theme of "it will never end well between them", No Particular Night or Morning by [info]thespike.
Hmmm this fic is definitely heartbreaking. Talk about the thin line between hate and love....

A new fic [info]scribblinlenore had just posted called Wired for Action. The missing scene from Legacy! Hmmm dominate Clark...so dominate...yet dorky at the same time. Yes, it could and had happen.

    Originals
Something I found on the Nifty.
    That's Life by W.E.
It's a great sorta coming to age story. About a guy dealing with being in love with his best friend. Hahaha sounds familiar?

That's it for now...tired. I'll probably have more tomorrow...if I can get out of work alive...

    Rec's Galore
Well I'm sort of back. Work is um work, sigh...why is it I always get the difficult clients. @_@ grrrrrr....

Anyways, here are my new and old recs....

    *****
    Original Fiction

Nifty is a great site full of original fiction I written by gay men. Usually 90% of fan fictions I read are written by fan girls, hence when I found this site it was....interesting. Though, not all fics there tickle my fancy however there are a few treasures there that is definitely worth mentioning.

Alpha Male by David Buffet is one of my (though I have a few) favourite original story (well novel in this case).

It's about a psychology grad writing a paper on the "alpha male" and found his research subject on an all male gymnastic team. Though it may sound lame, its not! It's just that my description does not do the story any justice!

It has a slow beginning, but have patience it will quickly becomes a very interesting story. Yes, the lemons were hot, however the plot had very interesting twist and turns that it was not at all what I thought it would end up.

Next is Fraternity Memoirs by John Walsh
It is actually based on John's real life experience during the freshmen years in college. It is a wonderful story, reading about John's growth and you can really tell that he had put his heart into these memoirs. It is still a WIP and updates are posted on yahoo groups.

    Smallville

OK back to Smallville, how can I have recs without a Smallville rec?

Family Portrait by Kat Reitz and [info]tzi
As one can see from my recs that I'm attracted to long fics. Well hold on to your hats, this fic is 724 K and it took me a while to finish it. An AU base on the scenario of what if Lionel died from the meteor shower and later Lilly leaving small Lex all by himself. Well of course he'll goes and lives with the Kents.
This is a lovely story, full of warmth. Both Kat & [info]tzi are wonderful writers, I've been following their stories since my GundamWing days.
Hee, they also have a very twisted "pervish deviation of the story call Wrong and yes, its sooooooo wrong. Yay!

Yes, I admit I like spanking stories. It's my kink and nobody is going to take that away from me! Lovely people like [info]scribblinlenore encourages it by writing stories like A Thrill of a Lifetime. Hmmmmm a dominant Clark and a spanked Lex sigh.....

An old one I just re-read is [info]keelywolf's Earthbound.
    Cornfield *ARE* scary man!

    Star Wars: TPM

Speaking of [info]keelywolf, she was on of my favourite writers for SW:TPM fan fictions. She had many stories on her site. The one that I still like to re-read time and time again is Resisting Temptations. Right mix of plot and lemon.

<a href="http://www.fyredancer.net/wk/WKburymemory.html/">To Bury the Hurt Memory</a> is such a great angsty fic with my favourite pairing AyaxYoji. But have tissues ready, I was sobbing when I finish reading this.

<a href="http://www.kuwamiko.com/AYmorning.html/">Morning</a> by osmalic - it has angst, plot, and of course lemon. What more can I ask for?

    <u>Prince of Tennis</u>

I squelled like a fan girl that I am when I found that <lj user="fyredancer"> was writing Prince of Tennis fics. Yes my favourite pairing is of course the Golden Pair. Their everyone's favourite!!!!
<a href="http://www.kuwamiko.com/PoTtruth.html/"</a>Truth of Dare<a> is such a cute fic! Eiji's bouncy personality and schemming Fuji were done just right.

    more "old" recs - anime
Before slash there was yaoi....well I mean for me. Yaoi is the one that sucked me into loving those boyxboy fanfictions...hmm the memories.

    Weiß Kreuz
The funny thing about this fandom, is that I only saw 3 ep. and hated it. It's weird that I fell in love the characters without seeing the whole series.

[info]fyredancer is the one who made me fell in love with the Aya(seme)X Yohji(uke) pairing..hmmmm. You can find all of her wonderful fics here. She writes in several different fandoms and I've read them all! Yes that good.
The one my fav fic in wk fandom is the Subway Series. Hmmmm the kink!

Another great site for wk fics would be Utopian Trunks' fanfictions found here. I love how she writes Yohji, there is this vunerablity that Yohji always seems to convey in all her fics. Two of my most fav fics would be Mada Mada and Flatline.
Mada Mada had made me a fan of hers. It's gives you the great sense of Yohji's internal struggle and losing. Good thing he had some friends to help him through it.
Flatline...I have no words for it. It's scary what happens when one lose hope.

    More to come...

    Smallville
A Handful of Dust by [info]seperis
A futurefic which after reading made me uncomfortable and yet happy...werid eh? It's one of those fics you can never forget, it soo good because of the wrongness of it. I'm probably not making any sense, just go read it.

    Two Halves by [info]dolimir
Another AU fic which gave me such wonderful warm fuzzy feeling inside. sigh~ beatiful hmmm...

    Smallville
    Some rec's for smallville:
    Fire & Blood by Domilir

Short and bittersweet. My fav line is:
"Clark, with his brilliant green eyes and intoxicating innocence, making him believe that he was salvageable, then refusing to save him."
    ....sigh
It's interesting since I believe in the end (in my own little smallville au world) that because Clark wasn't able to "save" Lex that this is what defined their future Superman/Evil Lex relationship.

    Anything by Scribblinlenore
I'm obessed in checking her journal to see if she has any new goodies!
Her website is here smallville is her main fandom at the moment (happy me) with 34 smallville fics archieved. My all time fav fic of her's is Billy Swanson. I have a thing for "in denial/reluctant" Lex and/or agressive/assertive Clark. The things I'll do to get more fics like that.....hmmmmm

I've realized something from yesterday to today. I'm very lazy. I use to keep a written diary, since I love that kind of stuff, looked back only wrote on the first 3 days and rest were blank......hmmm. Therefore realizing I won't use this livejournal for interest tibits of my life (hahaha) I thought I should just do some recs.
I love to read. I love searching the net to find good fanfics. I waste a LOT of time doing this. Hence why not make a record? ne? I don't think there will be alot of people visiting my journal, at least I can go back and visit certain fics..hmmm.
